Kappa 320 Industrial Digital Print for Home Textiles After the successful launch of the Inkjet High Performance Printer Kappa 180 for the clothing industry, Durst now presents the Kappa 320, the industrial digital print technology for the home textiles sector. Durst developed this new printer unit in close cooperation with Europe‘s leading textile finishing company, Mascioni S.p.A. Mascioni produces home textiles for brands such as Bassetti, Armani, Missoni, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Zara as well as fabrics for hotel furnishings. The Kappa 320 has a maximum print width of 330 cm and provides premium print quality of 1000 dpi at a production speed of 650 sqm/h. The latest V2 Printhead Technology, with the colors aligned symmetrically on the 8-channel printheads, helps the Kappa 320 to achieve absolute color conformity. A custom-built Corino feed-in unit transports the print material with an axial unwinder for big rolls with a tension control unit for precise material handling. In addition to dispersion- and acid inks, Durst also offers the newly formulated GOTS-certified reactive ink system for the Kappa 320. This allows for an ecological processing of organically grown natural fibers, in line with the stringent Global Organic Textile Standard. The new reactive inks even permit printing on silk and polyamide to achieve brilliant colors and color fastness similar to acidapplications. With this upgrade, cotton, linen, viscose, silk and polyamide can all be processed on the same printer unit. In addition to home-textile applications, the dispersion inks enable production for the rapidly growing soft-signage segment. To achieve the best print possible for textile advertising media, Durst offers the professional Caldera GrandTEX+ RIP-Software, which was designed especially for large format print. The function ‘CostView‘ calculates the production costs, as well as the CO2 emissions for every stage of the production process. For this, all relevant parameters such as ink, material, electricity and others are analyzed and therefore guarantee absolute transparency. Interior furnishings and decoration products like spreads, bedding, household linen, drapes and curtains, but also advertising media like flags and banners can now be produced digitally and in full width on the Kappa 320. Whether it‘s a thousand running meters or a short run, production is profitable from the start and always in the highest quality. With the Kappa 320, Durst, the specialist for industrial inkjet applications provides sustainable high-end technology from a single source. Market launch is at the end of 2013.
