In Germany, 4,320 minutes or 72 hours is the time allowed by law for petrol station leaseholders to repair a defective vapour recovery pump. On average, Germans fill up with 1.5 million tonnes of petrol every month. It goes without saying that very careful attention is paid to returning the vapour to the storage tanks.
