Chemical and Industrial Manufacturing Solutions Dow Corning® AFE 1267 Antifoam Emulsion is a high-solid-content product specially developed for the metalworking fluid (MWF) industry. This formulation aid can be used for defoaming a range of metalworking fluid formulations, including various emulsions and microemulsions, in various solubilities and chemical solutions. Dow Corning AFE 1267 Antifoam Emulsion features: • High active levels • Odorless composition • The benefit of a clear, transparent fluid without compromising defoaming performance • High dispersibility and compatibility with various metalworking fluid formulations • Excellent performance at a wide range of temperatures, including low temperatures • Lower cost in use - can reach similar performance at low dosage rates This emulsion’s good defoaming performance and its workability over a wide temperature range enable MWF formulators more options in raw material selection and assist formulators in developing higher-efficiency materials. Performance Based on the pump test and shake test, Dow Corning AFE 1267 Antifoam Emulsion demonstrates better knockdown and persistency performance (see Table 1) than a competitive product. Dow Corning AFE 1267 Antifoam Emulsion also provides better antifiltration performance, as shown in Figure 1 on page 2. Additionally, Dow Corning AFE 1267 Antifoam Emulsion demonstrates transparency while providing equivalent defoaming performance, as shown in Figure 2 on page 2. Table 1.
