GRAFILIT EM Gasket Sheet

Product catalog summary
Overview
GRAFILIT® EM is a high-performance gasket material composed of expanded natural graphite and an expanded stainless steel insert. It is designed for high-pressure applications, including cycling operations, and is particularly suitable for high-temperature environments in the petrochemical industry and steam supply.

Composition and Approvals
The material consists of over 99% pure expanded natural graphite and an AISI 316L stainless steel sheet insert. It is black in color and has received approvals such as ISO 10497 (fire safe test), TA-Luft (VDI 2440), and DIN-DVGW DIN 3535-6.

Properties
  • Sealability Performance: Superior
  • Thermal Resistance: Excellent
  • Mechanical Resistance: Very Good
  • Chemical Resistance: Good

Applications
GRAFILIT® EM is suitable for various industries, including general purpose, steam and gas supply, chemical and petrochemical industries, paper and cellulose, automotive, shipbuilding, power plants, refrigeration, heating systems, high-temperature applications, compressors, pumps, and valves.

P-T diagrams indicate the maximum permissible combination of internal pressure and service temperature which can be simultaneously applied for a given gasket according its material type, thickness, size and tightness class. Given the wide variety of gasket applications and service conditions, these values should only be regarded as guidance for the proper gasket assembly. In general, thinner gaskets exhibit better P-T properties. J G eneral suitability - Under common installation practices and chemical compatibility.
