Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a data sheet for the DFS 4 016-4/0,03-A FT residual current circuit-breaker (RCCB) by Doepke, designed for pulsating AC/DC-sensitive applications with a remote-tripping function. It is suitable for use in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Specifications: The DFS 4 series is a compact, four-pole RCCB that occupies four module width units. It is designed for AC and pulsating DC residual currents in three-phase networks but can also be used in single-phase networks. The device supports rated currents up to 125 A and is available in a high-durability (HD) design for extreme environments. It features large two-tier terminals, a multifunctional switch toggle, and a viewing window for labels.
Features: The RCCB is independent of mains voltage, sensitive to AC and pulsating DC residual currents (type A), and includes an integrated auxiliary switch function. It has high short-circuit resistance, a switch position indicator, and can be mounted in any position with supply from any direction.
Applications: Suitable for TN-S, TT, and TN-C-S networks, the RCCB is not permitted for TN-C networks or systems with electronic equipment causing smooth DC residual currents. It is ideal for remote switch-off and hazard alarm applications.
Technical Data: The RCCB has a rated current of 16 A, a rated residual current of 0.03 A, and operates at 230 V or 400 V with a frequency of 50 Hz. It has a rated impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV and a mechanical endurance of at least 5000 cycles.
Mounting and Installation: The device is mounted on a rail and can be installed in any position. It is made of thermoplastic resin, has a protection class of IP20 (front: IP40), and is sealable.
Environmental Conditions: The RCCB operates in ambient temperatures from -25 °C to 40 °C and can be stored between -35 °C and 75 °C. It is resistant to humid heat and cyclic conditions as per IEC 60068-2-30.
Diagrams and Dimensions: The document includes diagrams and dimensions for installation, with a width of 81 mm, height of 85 mm, and depth of 75 mm.

Doepke The experts in residual current protection technology DATA SHEET DFS 4 016-4/0,03-A FT pulsating AC/DC-sensitive type A, with remote-tripping function Article No. 09114921 Symbolic image 1AT Function Residual current circuit-breakers (RCCBs) are components for implementing protective measure "Automatic switch-o of power supply" as per VDE 0100 part 410 or corresponding international installation regulations. Series DFS 4 devices are compact two or four-pole residual current circuit-breakers. In the standard design, they only take up four module width units of space. While DFS 4 devices are designed for AC and pulsating DC residual currents for three-phase networks but can also be used in single-phase networks, there are also special variants in the AC/DC sensitive designs (type B, type B+) for single or three-phase operation. In spite of the compact dimensions, a number of dierent tripping currents and characteristics are available at rated currents, depending on the design, up to 125 A. Usually the neutral conductor connection is located on the left side, but can be on the right if desired. Furthermore, all devices are available in the "HD" design, which is especially suitable for use in extreme environments (tunnels, swimming pools, etc.) They also have large two-tier terminals for large conductor cross-sections, a practical multifunctional switch toggle and can be provided with pre-prepared labels using free-of-charge software. Switches with residual current characteristic A are independent of the mains voltage and allow the detection of sinusoidal AC currents and pulsating DC residual currents. With the FT design the connections of the internal test key are wired to two terminals in order to be able to activate the test device externally. An auxiliary contact also reports the switch-o of the safety switch. Features integrated auxiliary switch function, contact data same as for DHi, The technical properties of the basic switch are not changed by the FT option., tripping not dependent on mains and auxiliary voltage, sensitive to AC residual currents and pulsating DC residual currents (type A), compact design for all rated currents, high short-circuit resistance, double-sided two-tier terminals for large conductor crosssection and busbar, switch position indicator, viewing window for labels, multifunction switch toggle with three positions: "on", "o" and "tripped", , neutral conductor in standard design left, optionally available: N right for any four-pole device at no extra cost Mounting quick fastening to mounting rail, any installation position, supply from any direction Applications Power supplies to residential and purpose-built buildings as well as industrial facilities with TN-S, TT and TN-C-S networks. In IT networks, the residual current circuit-breakers of this series can be set to switch o in the event of a second fault, RCCBs from the "FT" series are especially suitable for the remote switch-o of systems and parts of systems and for being tripped by hazard alarms, amongst other devices, Not permitted for use in TN-C networks; not permitted for protecting systems in which electronic equipment may cause smooth DC residual currents or residual currents with frequencies not equal to 50 Hz. Comprehensive protection is not provided in this case. For these applications we recommend our AC/DC sensitive residual current circuit-breakers (type B or B+). Notes Do not use as emergency stop circuit!, The contacts of the external command device must be designed for a rated residual current ≥ 0.5 A and for the rated voltage of the residual current circuit-breaker.
