Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a data sheet for the DFL 8 100-4/0,03-A, a pulsating AC/DC-sensitive circuit breaker with integral residual current protection, designed by Doepke. It is intended for overcurrent protection and protection against electrical shock.

Functionality: The circuit breaker combines magnetic and thermal overcurrent trip with a residual current trip. It is suitable for rated currents up to 250 A and is designed for use in circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V or 400 V and a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. It detects sinusoidal AC currents and pulsating DC residual currents, providing fault, fire, and personal protection.

Features: The device has a fixed rated residual current of 0.03 A and is four-pole with a rated voltage of 400/690 V AC. It operates independently of mains and auxiliary voltage, has high short-circuit switching capacity, and is resistant to transient residual currents. It includes integrated auxiliary switches and terminals for large cable cross-sections.

Mounting and Applications: The circuit breaker can be mounted on a plate in any position and supplied from any direction. It is suitable for power supplies in buildings and industrial facilities with TN-S, TT, and TN-C-S networks. It is not suitable for TN-C networks.

Technical Specifications: The device has a rated current of 100 A, a response delay of up to 300 ms, and a non-trip time of 10 ms. It supports a maximum operating voltage of 690 V and an operating frequency of 50 Hz. The rated short-circuit disconnecting capacity varies with voltage, reaching up to 85 kA at 240 V AC.

Construction and Safety: The device is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP20 protection (front: IP40). It is designed to be finger-safe and safe for back-of-hand contact. The housing dimensions are 140 mm in width, 291 mm in height, and 103 mm in depth.

Standards and Compliance: The circuit breaker complies with VDE 0660-101, EN 60947-2, and EN 60947-2 Appendix B standards. It is classified under overvoltage class III and degree of pollution 3 according to EN 60664.

Notes and Recommendations: The type A CBR is not suitable for systems with electronic equipment that may cause smooth DC residual currents. For such applications, an AC/DC sensitive CBR type B is recommended.

Doepke The experts in residual current protection technology DATA SHEET DFL 8 100-4/0,03-A pulsating AC/DC-sensitive type A Article No. 09164781 Symbolic image ATkg Function CBRs (circuit-breakers with integral residual current protection) are circuit-breakers with a magnetic and thermal overcurrent trip and a residual current trip. The circuit-breaker with residual current trip is used for overcurrent protection of equipment, cables and lines in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-430 and for protection against electrical shock by automatic switch-o of the power supply as per DIN VDE 0100-410. This series contains compact devices for rated currents up to 250 A with integrated auxiliary switch and terminals for large cable cross-sections. The devices are preferably mounted on a mounting plate. Switches with residual current characteristic A are independent of the mains voltage and allow the detection of sinusoidal AC currents and pulsating DC residual currents. Switches of this variant have a xed residual response current of 30 mA for the protection of persons. They therefore provide fault and re protection as well as additional protection (personal protection, protection in the event of direct contact). Devices in the standard design are intended for monitoring circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V or 400 V and a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Features xed rated residual current of 0.03 A, type range with rated currents from 100 A to 250 A, four-pole, rated voltage 400/690 V AC, detection of AC residual currents and pulsating DC residual currents (type A as per IEC TR 60755), function range of the residual current trip 0-690 V, function range of the residual current operated protective device 280-690 V, trip independent of the mains voltage and auxiliary voltage when overcurrent and residual currents occur , high short-circuit switching capacity, terminals up to 185 mm², , high surge current strength, i.e. low tendency to faulty trips due to transient residual currents, thresholds adjustable for instantaneous and slow-blow overcurrent trip, integrated auxiliary switches Mounting mounting on mounting plate, any installation position, supply from any direction Applications power supplies to purpose-built buildings as well as industrial facilities with TN-S, TT and TN-C-S networks with high short-circuit power , In IT networks, the residual current trip of the CBR can be set to switch o in the event of a second earth fault. , use for residual current protection in TN-C networks is excluded Notes The type A CBR does not provide comprehensive protection in systems containing electronic equipment can cause smooth DC residual currents or residual currents with frequencies not equal to 50 Hz. For these applications we recommend our AC/DC sensitive CBR type B.
