How The FRED™ CI Self-Cleaning System Works The FRED1" CI self-cleaning dust collection system eliminates the need for costly maintenance and frequent filter changes. Compressed air is blown through the filter in the reverse direction thus dislodging dust from the filter. The solid pollutants are then collected in a dust drawer or hopper and emptied periodically.
