The issues In order to achieve and conform to modern building regulations, high performance breathable and barrier membranes are being utilized increasingly in the construction of both residential and commercial buildings. Many varying membrane substrates exist in the market, that typically, utilize materials we would consider to be difficult to bond, such as PE, PP and epdm. In membrane applications, the tape has to bond well to difficult membrane substrates, but must also provide high tack and bond strength to a wide variety of surfaces such as concrete, cement block, brick, painted steel and timber. The taped overlap joints and fixing points (to the super structure), must be of high quality, consistent, easy and quick to makeup. The tape, ideally, should be highly resistant to aging, environmental factors and appropriate for use externally. The solution 200hx20, is a high deposition transfer, utilizing a unique, solvent free modified acrylic adhesive, Presented in 40mm wide rolls, with extended liner both sides, to provide protection and ease of handling. Rolls can be provided in short lengths for hand, on-site use or in long length machine rolls, for application in the converting process at the membrane producer. The benefits 200hx20... • is a modified acrylic, so it can be used all year round and can be considered to be an all weather tape solution. Butyl products cannot be used successfully in temperatures of under 10°C, so cannot be used in the winter. • is a high deposition transfer, so it can provide good tack and bond to a wide variety of surfaces, including those that are rough and/or structured. • utilizes a unique, modified acrylic adhesive system, that provides good levels of adhesion to substrates that are low energy or that are considered to be problematic.
