General Introduction: The 1062PP is a double-sided polyester tape featuring a thin carrier coated with a pressure-sensitive acrylic polymer or synthetic rubber adhesive. It is available in roll or sheet format with a release liner to suit customer needs.
Product Description: The tape consists of a polyester film with modified acrylic adhesive, offering high shear resistance, good initial tack, and superior adhesion, even to low energy substrates like PP or PE. It is designed for permanent bonding and is self-wound on red polypropylene, siliconized on both sides.
Typical Applications: Suitable for fixing bars, borders, profiles, PVC extrusion, furniture trims, ornamental screens, cable ducting, and battery packs. It is also used for joining or splicing paper, textiles, synthetic, and metal films, and is appropriate for rough or structured surfaces. In the White Goods Industry, it is used for mounting nameplates, emblems, and backprinted graphics.
Characteristics: The tape shows high adhesion to metal, glass, ceramics, acrylic, and PET, with medium adhesion to textiles, rubber, painted surfaces, wood, paper, polystyrene, soft PVC, and smooth substrates.
Resistance: The tape is resistant to detergents and alcohol, with medium resistance to plasticizers and outdoor conditions. It is not recommended for use with aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons.
Shelf Life: 2 years when stored at 15/25º C and 50% relative humidity.
Adhesive Data: Quick tack on stainless steel is 32 N/25mm, with peel strength after 20 minutes and 24 hours being 22 and 23 N/25mm respectively. Shear strength on stainless steel is over 2000 hours.
Carrier Data: The tape has a thickness of 12 microns, tensile strength of 25 N/15mm (MD) and 27 N/15mm (CD), and elongation of 180% (MD and CD).
Temperature Resistance: Minimum application temperature is +2º C, with an end-use range of -40º C to +160º C and short-term resistance up to +175º C.
Release Liner: Red MOPP with a thickness of 50 microns.
