An ignitor is a device that provides a voltage pulse to start HID (High-Intensity Discharge) lamps. It is essential for the operation of high-pressure sodium and metal halide lamps.
- General Characteristics: High insulation resistance, available in cylindrical or rectangular shapes, with a useful life of 100,000 hours.
- Application: Designed for high-pressure sodium and metal halide lamps, these ignitors are connected in parallel with the lamp using two white wires.
- Features: They contain an internal transformer that generates starting pulses, eliminating the need for a derivation tap. They are multi-pulse, ensuring instantaneous ignition of new generation lamps.
- Models: AP-70, AP-100, AP-400, suitable for various power ranges and supply voltages.
- General Characteristics: Superimposed type with high insulation resistance and a useful life of 10 years.

WHAT TYPE OF IGNITORS DOES Disproel ? PARALLEL IGNITORS These have an internal transformer responsible for generating the starting pulses of the lamps, and therefore they do not need a derivation (tap) for their operation. They are multi pulse, which ensures the instantaneous ignition of the new generation lamps (improved ow). Thanks to its ignition power, the AP-400 model is suitable for use with high-pulse metal halide lamps. It's easy to install, and must be connected in parallel with the lamps. PARALLEL TYPE IGNITORS SUPERIMPOSED IGNITOR This ignitor has to connect in series with the lamp. It supports the maximum operating current of the lamp. For proper operation, the igniter should be installed according to the connection diagram and as close as possible to the lamp.
