The DISACOOL system integrates mould shake-out, sand cooling, lump crushing, homogenization, and casting cooling into a single process. Process Description
The DISACOOL effectively cools castings and sand through the evaporation of residual water in the sand, with additional water sprayed into the drum. A counter air flow enhances the cooling effect. The process gently tumbles castings with sand for 20-30 minutes, breaking sand lumps and blending the sand before screening. The cooled castings are discharged at the outlet, and the sand, free of metal fragments, can be recycled.

Technical Specifications
- Casting Discharge Temperature: Typically between 70 and 90°C, starting from approximately 700°C.
- Sand Discharge Temperature: Achieves 45 to 55°C with a moisture content of about 1.5% (max 1.8%). The SCR system can further reduce sand temperature below 45°C.
- Noise Levels: Less than 85dB (A).

Control and Optimization
The DISA control system ensures optimal cooling without exceeding moisture limits and adjusts water addition for unpoured moulds. The SCR system further cools sand to below 45°C before recycling.
