SORBAIDE “POM POMS” - Heavy oil absorbent SORBAIDE “pom poms” are hanks of polypropylene fibres for manual recovery of heavy oils from the ground and water. SORBAIDE is designed for the recovery of heavy oils such as bunker fuel and crude oils. Each SORBAIDE can recover up to 30 times its own weight of oil (dependent on viscosity). SORBAIDES work by binding the oil within the fibres - rather like putting chewing gum in hair! The oil attracting properties of the material repel water. SORBAIDES are generally applied individually by hand and worked into the oil with a fork or other such tool....
