In February 2003, the Norwegian 335 Squadron released a 10-year-old bag, without parachute, from a Hercules C-130 flying at an altitude of 600 ft., speed 135 Knots. The bag landed on ice and hard packed snow. Not only was the bag 10 years old. it had also been stored outdoors the entire time - in wind, salt- and freshwater in minus degrees temperatures and in direct sunlight. It contained 1 ton of water - and yet was totally intact on landing. This drop has been video-filmed by the Norwegian Air Force. Extreme unloading possibilities The strong material used in Simtech MultiBag makes the unloading possibilities enormous. The MultiBag can be dropped from airplanes or helicopters, or just pushed of a truck, independent of road access or other infrastructure. Three persons can easily move the MultiBag filled with 2 tons of liquid, by hand. In addition the MultiBag can be delivered with specially adapted CDS (Container Delivery System) High Velocity, wiil~i parachute. This, provides greater safety margins for landing an any surface.
