Electrically heated pumps Electrically Heated Pump Solutions - for the Asphalt and Bitumen Industry Asphalt has always been an important ROTAN® pump application. Most pumps are heated by thermal oil or steam, but many users want to heat the pumps electrically as it takes a large investment to establish and run a thermal oil heating system for small units. The electric heating system in the small ROTAN® pumps is based on a heating element which is placed in the middle of the pump, where it is most effective. For pump size 3” and bigger, additionally two heating elements are placed in the rear cover. KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS Can be used where no thermal oil is available. Low investment and running costs. Pumps delivered with stuffing box as standard. No disconnection and emptying of thermal oil pipes and systems when servicing the pump. The cartridge heaters are equipped with 2000 mm silicone leads with metal sleeve.
