Biomass Fueled Plants - Case Story Skanderborg-H0rning District Heating Co. supplies heat for a population of approx. 9.000. The heat system consists of 300 km / 186 miles distribution pipes, six heating plants and five pumping stations. The annual supply of energy is 275.000 MWh. The wood chips production covers 140,000 MWh/ year and replaces coal-fired heat from the Studstrup Power Plant. Wood chips heating is CO2-neutral and reduces the annual CO2-emissions by approx. 20,000 tonnes.
