D-4 D-Frame Solenoid

Product catalog summary
Electrical Specifications
The D-Frame Solenoid offers a range of coil voltages including 6, 12, 24, 120, and 240 VAC, as well as 6, 12, 24, and 110 VDC. Coil power varies with duty cycle: 10 VA for continuous, 59 VA for intermittent, and 100 VA for pulse operations. The solenoid features quick connect terminals and optional wire leads. It supports continuous, intermittent, and pulse duty cycles, with encapsulated coil treatment and insulation class options of Class A (105ºC) and Class F (155ºC). Dielectric strength is rated at 500 VRMS for 30 volts and under, and 1000 VRMS plus twice the rated voltage for over 30 volts.
Mechanical Specifications
The solenoid measures 1.996” x 1.437” x 1.625” and includes a plunger with a diameter of 0.4375”. It is mounted using eight #8-32 UNC-2B holes and weighs 12 oz. The life expectancy is 250,000 cycles, depending on load conditions. Agency approvals include UL File No. E57982 for continuous duty and UL File No. E74443 for insulation systems.
Features
The solenoid balances cost and performance, is available in both AC and DC models, and features encapsulated coils on most models. Many models have UL approval.
Force Curves
The document provides force curves for various duty cycles, including AC continuous duty at 10 VA, DC continuous duty at 11.5 Watts, and others. Standard intermittent duty cycle is 25% with a maximum of 3 minutes "ON" and 9 minutes "OFF". Pulse duty cycle is 10% with 100 milliseconds "ON" and 900 milliseconds "OFF". A heat sink of approximately 36 sq. in. is required.
Standard Part Numbers
The document lists part numbers with specifications for voltage, duty cycle, power, resistance, and typical force at various strokes. Some parts are normally stocked, while non-stocked items require a minimum order.
