Delphi Multec® 20 GDi Fuel Injector The Delphi Multec® GDi Fuel Injector is designed for gasoline direct injection engines and features a fast single coil actuator optimized for turbo-charged homogeneous combustion engine applications. It provides outstanding spray and fuel injection performance at a lower cost than piezo injector technology and can be operated at up to 200 bar fuel pressure. The Delphi Multec 20 GDi Fuel Injector’s operating principle is based on an outwardly opening valve group that generates a conical spray pattern. The resulting fuel spray has superior spray quality (i.e. atomization and penetration), which supports the demands of turbo-charged homogeneous combustion engines in order to achieve high engine operating efficiency and low particulate emissions (particulate mass and particulate number) at fuel pressures of 200 bar and below. Delphi M ultec 20 GDi Fuel Injector Solenoid actuator design offers a better value compared to piezo technology Robust to tip coking due to outwardly opening nozzle design Outwardly opening valve group provides low penetration and efficient mixture formation Solenoid ECU driver; no expensive piezo driver hardware required Static flow up to 25 g/s and multi-pulse capabilities for optimal charge preparation and wide flow range for highly boosted turbo engines Corrosion resistance, flow performance, and flow range to accommodate the requirements of ethanol fuel blends Typical Applications The Delphi Multec 20 GDi Fuel Injector can be applied to gasoline engines with a central injector position in the cylinder head. The large flow rate and excellent mixture preparation at 200 bar fuel pressure and below offers an attractive option for homogeneous turbo-charged engine applications that require improved CO2 emissions, low particulate emissions, and higher fuel economy.
