Brake systems for steel mills

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document outlines the technical specifications and operational guidelines for brake systems designed for steel mills by PINTSCH BUBENZER. It covers various brake types including thruster disc brakes, hydraulic disc brakes, electromagnetic disc brakes, drum brakes, and associated components such as couplings, hubs, and monitoring systems.
Thruster Disc Brakes (SB 8 Series): The SB 8 series is noted for its reliable, compact design and robust construction. Key specifications include brake torque from 1000 to 22000 Nm and disc diameters from 250 to 1250 mm. Features include automatic wear compensators and options for high ambient temperatures. Maintenance must comply with DIN standard 15434 part 2.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes (SF Series): Known for high performance and robust design, these brakes are suitable for secondary emergency brakes on main hoists. They include a dead man's circuit, non-flammable oil, and heat-resistant components. Manufacturer adjustments are required, and adherence to DIN standards is necessary for warranty validity.
Electromagnetic Disc Brakes: Detailed in sections C1 to C26, these brakes are designed for applications requiring precise control and reliability.
Drum Brakes: Sections E1 to E16 cover drum brakes, essential for specific industrial applications, with various sizes and configurations.
Couplings, Hubs, and Discs: Sections F1 to F16 detail components that complement braking systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
Monitoring and Control Systems: Sections G1 to G16 describe systems used to monitor and control brake operations, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Buffers: Section I1 to I9 covers buffers used to absorb energy and reduce impact forces in braking systems.
General Notes: Emphasizes the importance of proper maintenance and servicing for safety and functionality, with support available from PINTSCH BUBENZER's service engineers.
Spring Set Brakes (SFB) and KFB Series: Designed for high performance and reliability, suitable for various industrial applications. Specifications include IP67 protection, spring applied safety brakes, and applications in gantry, trolley, and hoisting.
Procedures and Recommendations: Regular servicing and maintenance are crucial, adhering to DIN standard 15434 part 2. Options include special voltage, anti-condensation heaters, and brake control units.
Technical Data: Includes dimensions, brake torque, mass moment of inertia, nominal voltage, power, and current for different brake sizes.
Service and Support: Installation and commissioning services are available, with detailed manuals and engineering drawings provided upon request.
Technical Specifications: Details on brake rectifiers, full wave and half wave rectifiers, switching rectifiers, and brake control units. Standards and certifications include DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN standard 15434 part 2.
Display and Keypad Features: Designed for readability under direct sunlight, with LED backlight and internal keypad for parameter adjustments.
Sensors: Includes pad temperature sensors, contact force sensors, and stroke sensors for monitoring brake conditions.
Profibus Integration: Allows data and warnings transfer via Profibus-DP, supporting up to 126 brakes on one master.
Gas-Hydraulic Buffer PB: Features a robust design with low maintenance requirements, suitable for various industrial applications.
