Operating Principle
The TEMAX-3 operates as a 2-wire transducer, transmitting power and output signal through two wires. It measures temperature using Pt100Ω sensors and outputs a 4...20mA signal proportional to the highest temperature detected. Fault conditions such as broken or short-circuited sensors are indicated by specific output signals.

Installation
The transducer should be installed near measuring points to minimize noise and simplify wiring. It is adjusted for a fixed lead resistance of 0.35Ω to ensure accuracy. The device is housed in a polycarbonate case with IP65 protection.

Mechanical and Electrical Construction
The transducer features a polycarbonate case with a transparent cover, watertight push-buttons, and plug-in PCBs for easy maintenance. It includes amplifiers for sensors, a voltage supply, and an output amplifier.

In order to fully utilize the 2-wire system, the transducer should be placed near the measuring points to gain the following advantages: Noise suppression The signal is transmitted at a high level and a relative insensitivity to noise and interference is thus achieved. Օ Simple wiring Only 2 wires are to be drawn from the transducer to the switchboard. The Pt100 Ω sensors are connected to the TEMAX-3 in "2-wire couplings". The resistance in the sensor leads is in series with the Pt100 Ω sensor, and an error would consequently occur, if not allowed for. To avoid this error, the TEMAX-3 is adjusted...
