The MDR-2 is a current differential protection relay for protection of a 3-phase generator/motor against internal short circuits (leaking currents). The MDR-2 can be used in marine and land applications. Avoid fail tripping Different cable lengths or different types of current transformers will cause saturation of the current transformers at different points in time, e.g. in case of a short circuit.
