PAC 50 WINDER OVERVIEW Davis-Standard PAC 50 surface winders offer a consistent, dependable winding solution to blown film processors capable of winding rolls up to 50" (1270mm) diameter. The PAC 50 winder incorporates a number of key features including infeed nip, inline slitting, hydraulically operated pressure arms with closed loop control, surface, center assist and gap winding options. These features provide the tools for the highest quality roll production. KEY FEATURES ■ 50-inch (1270mm) diameter roll capability. ■ AC drive control. ■ Surface, Center Assist and Gap winding. ■ Hydraulically operated pressure arm to maintain a desired layon force for superior roll quality. ■ Taper tension. ■ Transducer roll tension control. ■ Fully automatic cutover and transfer with tape. ■ PLC controlled for ease of use and programming, allowing simple repeatable winding properties. ■ Short web path for uniform edge roll geometry.

Having a good start to the roll is critical and with the option of shaft acceleration, speed matching of the new air shaft is essential to alleviate problems. Used on 500 fpm (152.4 mpm) models. GAP WINDING WITH CENTER DRIVE Utilizing the option of gap winding with center drive manufacturers can resolve many of their existing winding problems relating to winding quality in production, such as air pockets and blocking.
