Overview
The GEMINI® Parallel (GP) Twin Screw Extruders are designed to offer increased output rates and torque capacity compared to competitive models. They feature a durable design with flexible processing capabilities and come equipped with a control cabinet and drive motor mounted on a common base.

Specifications
The GP series includes models GP-94, GP-114, and GP-140, designed for RPVC and LDPE markets with configurations of 28:1 L/D and 36:1 L/D respectively. These extruders can process larger resin amounts per screw revolution due to longer screws and higher torque capacity.

Feed Screw/Barrel
Standard GP extruders are equipped with 28:1 or 36:1 L/D screws. The barrel is twin parallel bored, vented, and constructed from bimetallic or nitrided alloy steel. It features five water or air-cooled zones and a melt pressure transducer rated at 0-10,000 psi.

Gearcase
The extruders feature a heavy-duty gearbox with carburized and ground helical gearing, a motor-driven lubrication system, and a heat exchanger, offering higher torque and thrust ratings.

Motor
Equipped with an AC motor, the extruders have adjustable mounting, drive belts, and sheaves with a belt guard.

Barrel Heating and Cooling
The GP-114 and GP-140 models use a closed-loop water cooling system, while the GP-94 uses aluminum finned heaters. Air cooling is provided by blowers, with zones isolated to prevent air leakage.

Control System
Features include an emergency STOP button, a sloped front console with operator controls, AC drive with 1/2 percent speed regulation, six discrete barrel zone temperature controllers, and various safety and monitoring features.

  GP-140: PVC Pipe 3,000 lbs/hr (1,360 kg/hr), Vinyl Siding 2,700 lbs/hr (1,230 kg/hr)
