Image Intensifiers - L Series - 1

Applications • UV and visible imaging applications • Imaging of Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) at low light levels, e.g. combustion diagnostics • Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence in tracer-seeded (acetone) gas flows • Planar Laser-Induced Incandescence (LII) • Imaging of Rayleigh scattering • 18 mm and 25 mm image intensifier units • Ultra-fast gating with gate times down to 3 ns, e.g. for fluorescence/phosphorescence analysis, fast rotating systems, etc. • Remote controller unit for instant gain control (18 mm unit only) • Relay lens for camera coupling (e.g. HiSense or SpeedSense cameras) Introduction Image intensifiers are suitable and sometimes even necessary in a variety of imaging applications such as imaging of events with extremely low light levels, fast events where ultra-short exposure times are required, or imaging in the UV spectral range in which conventional CCD or CMOS cameras are not sensitive. Dantec Dynamics' imaging systems are equipped with dedicated, compact image intensifier units to enhance imaging capabilities in such applications, covering a wide range of technical requirements. Description The image intensifier units are robust solutions for image intensification and function under continuous to ultra-fast gate modes. Each unit consists of: • Image intensifier with photocathode, microchannel plate (MCP) and phosphor screen material matching application requirements • Remote controller unit for instant gain control (18 mm unit) • Relay lens for best match of the phosphor screen to the camera sensor Dantec Dynamics offers 18 and 25 mm image intensifier units. The 18 mm version features a phosphor screen with high conversion efficiency making it suitable for applications with low light levels. The 25 mm unit is dedicated for high speed imaging applications using a phosphor screen with fast decay time, minimizing image ghosting effects

Image intensifier units – L series Product Information Operating mode Phosphor screens All image intensifier units are based on microchannel plate (MCP) technology, completely eliminating image distortions. On the 18 mm unit the gain is easily controlled by means of a potentiometer on the remote controller. The 25 mm unit offers full control of the gain and gate time settings directly from the software. The intensifiers can be operated in gated mode offering ultra-short minimum gate times down to 3 ns, depending on the model selected. Two types of phosphor screens are available, P43 and P46...
