VLT® Sine-Wave Filters 17 Sine-wave filters are placed between the frequency converter and the motor. They are differential-mode low-pass filters that suppress the switching frequency component from the frequency converter and smooth out the phase-to-phase output voltage of the frequency converter to make it sinusoidal.
