Fast-Axis Collimation(FAC) FAC is a beam shaping technology to collimate laser beam in one axis direction for diode laser. This is useful to preserve the beam quality of the diode laser output. Because the emitting area of a laser diode has a small and rectangular shape with a large aspect ratio, typically, 1*150gm or 1*200gm, in the direction of the narrow width of the area, i.e. along ‘fast axis’, though with a good beam quality, a wide angle divergence of the beam output, up to 40°, exhibits. Laser Diode Distributed Feedback (DFB) Daheng Optics A distributed feedback laser (DFB) is a type of laser diode, quantum cascade laser where the active region of laser diode is periodically structured as a diffraction grating. When a large current is passed through the laser diode for even an extremely short time, the strong light emitted from the laser diode promotes deterioration and then destruction of the laser diode.
