Product catalog summary
Specifications and Approvals
The Titan 8242 is a dimethacrylate ester-based anaerobic threadlocking adhesive. It appears as a blue liquid in its uncured state and a blue solid when cured. It is certified to ANSI/NSF 61 Section 6 for drinking water system components. The product is RoHS-compliant and has a shelf life of 12 months when stored unopened at 20°C (68°F).

Physical Properties
Uncured: The adhesive is thixotropic with a viscosity of 1200 cP. It has a flash point greater than 200°F (93°C).
Cured: The service temperature range is -65 to 300°F (-54 to 149°C). The adhesive develops medium strength, suitable for applications requiring disassembly with hand tools.

Performance and Application
The product prevents loosening of threaded fasteners and is effective in thin bond gaps. It achieves adequate bonding in 15 to 45 minutes, with maximum strength in 24 hours. The setting time varies with material: steel, brass, zinc-plated, and stainless steel all require 24 hours for full cure.

Resistance and Compatibility
Titan 8242 shows resistance to various solvents and chemicals, including weak aqueous bases and acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and alcohols. However, it is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or with strong oxidizing materials. It is also not suitable for plastics, particularly thermoplastics.

Storage and Handling
Store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration can extend shelf life, but the product should be brought to room temperature before use. Surfaces must be clean and dry before application. Activators can be used to improve set speed but may affect adhesive performance.

Safety and Disclaimer
Users should consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for safe handling information. Cyberbond disclaims all warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and any liability for consequential damages. Users are responsible for determining the product's suitability for their specific applications.

General Instructions Surfaces to be bonded should be clean and dry and free of grease. Product should be applied in enough quantity to fill all engaged threads. The product performs best in thin bond gaps. Very large gaps may create gaps that will affect the cure speed and overall strength. Good contact is essential. An adequate bond develops in 15 to 45 minutes and maximum strength is attained in 24 hours. This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments and/or oxygen-rich systems and should not be slected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials. This...
