Laser Particle Sensor for Air Purifier Application

Laser Particle Sensor for Air Purifier Application

Product catalog summary
Introduction
An air purifier is a device designed to remove contaminants from the air in a room. The integration of cubic laser particle sensors allows these devices to measure real-time particle concentration, specifically PM2.5 levels, in indoor air using laser scattering technology.
Key Features of the Laser Particle Sensor
  • Detects particle sizes ranging from 0.3μm to 10μm.
  • Provides real-time digital PM2.5 output.
  • Offers high accuracy with a quick response time of ≤8 seconds.
  • Supports multiple signal outputs: PWM, IIC, and UART.
  • Features a compact structure, is lightweight, and easy to install.
  • Designed for no maintenance with an anti-ash-deposition structure.
  • Includes strong interference rejection through voltage regulator design and an anti-static ABS lead-free injection molding shell.
Working Principle
The laser particle sensor operates by drawing air into a closed space and sampling it in a specific proportion. As particles pass through a laser light beam, they scatter light, which is then converted into an electrical signal by a photoelectric transformer. Larger particles produce stronger pulse signals. These electronic signals are processed by an amplifier circuit and MCU, and the output is displayed on the air purifier's screen in real-time.

Laser Particle Sensor for Air Purifier Application-1

Laser Particle Sensor for Air Purifier Application An air purifier or air cleaner is a device which removes contaminants from the air in a room. Cubic laser particle sensors are used to measure real time particle concentration in indoor air. Based on laser scattering technology, these sensors can be embedded into various air purifiers and real time output accurate digital PM2.5 value in μg/m³. How does laser particle sensor work? Draw air into closed interior space and then take air sample in certain proportion. When sampling particles pass through light beam (laser), there will be light scattering phenomenon. Scattered light will be converted into electrical signal (pulse) via photoelectric transformer. The bigger particles will obtain stronger pulse signal (peak value). Electronic signal is disposed by amplifier circuit and MCU, and output PWM/UART/I²C signal. The real-time measured data will be displayed on the screen of air purifier. Embedded with laser particle sensor, air purifier can real time output accurate digital PM2.5 value in μg/m³ and can intelligent control PM2.5 level display. The key features of the sensor are as below: ◆Particle size detected is 0.3μm-10μm ◆Output real time digital PM2.5 ◆High accuracy, quick response (≤8s) ◆Signal output (PWM/IIC/UART) ◆Compacted structure, light weight and easy installation ◆No maintenance: anti-ash-deposition structure design ◆Strong interference rejection: Voltage regulator design and anti-static ABS lead-free injection molding shell Wuhan Cubic Optoelectronics Co., Ltd
