ASU (Air Sampling Unit)

ASU (Air Sampling Unit)

Product catalog summary
Overview: The XGard ASU is designed to enable Xgard gas detectors to monitor toxic or flammable gases in ventilation ducts without exposing the detectors to high air velocities that could affect sensor performance.
Features:
  • Performance is fully specified between 5m/s and 20m/s ducted airflow.
  • Sampling probes are suitable for ducts from 300mm wide.
  • Strong, lightweight, and compact design.
  • Supplied with all necessary fittings for one Xgard detector.
  • Installation aid for accurate and easy fitting.
  • Color-coded inlet and exhaust probes.
  • Minimal impact on ventilation system functioning.
  • Sensor calibration or replacement can be done without opening the duct.
Operation: The ASU operates by drawing air from the duct through a black perforated inlet probe into its sampling chamber, then exhausting it back into the duct through a white probe. The design ensures air passes through the sampling chamber at approximately 25% of the duct's air speed.
Design: The ASU consists of a grey polycarbonate box with a transparent cover, which can be removed for installation or maintenance. A drilling template is provided to assist in the correct placement of probe entry holes.

ASU (Air Sampling Unit)-2

The Crowcon air sampling unit works by taking a sample of air from the duct through a black perforated inlet probe into its sampling chamber. The air is exhausted back into the duct through a white probe. The design of the probes and sampling chamber is arranged so that air passes through the sampling chamber at approximately 25% of the air speed in the duct. The ASU consists of a grey polycarbonate box fi tted with a transparent polycarbonate cover. The transparent window which has a built-in sealing gasket can be removed by undoing four screws to provide access during installation or maintenance....
