Water Symmetric PES Capsules

Water Symmetric PES Capsules

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed information about WPS Capsule Filters, which utilize a symmetric Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane for high-quality filtration of purified waters across various industries. These filters are designed for high throughput and excellent flow rates with efficient retention.
Construction Materials: The filters are constructed using polypropylene for the housing, media support, end caps, center core, and outer support cage. The sealing method employed is thermal bonding.
Applications: WPS Capsule Filters are suitable for process water, ultrapure water, deionized (DI) water, and pharmaceutical waters. The hydrophilic PES membrane is effective in preventing bacterial growth and biofilm accumulation.
Operating Parameters: The maximum liquid operational pressure is 80 psi at 20°C, while gases can be operated at 60 psi at the same temperature. The operating temperature is capped at 43°C at 30 psi in water. The filters have a forward differential pressure of 50 psid and a reverse differential pressure of 40 psid, with a recommended changeout pressure of 35 psid.
Flow Rate and Filtration Area: The document includes a table showing typical water flow rates at a one psi pressure differential across various capsule lengths, with pore sizes ranging from 0.03 μm to 0.45 μm.
Sanitization and Compliance: WPS capsules can be sanitized using industry-standard chemical concentrations but are not suitable for steam use. They comply with FDA and European Commission regulations for food and beverage processing.
Quality Assurance: The manufacturing process adheres to ISO 9001:2008 standards, ensuring high-quality production with real-time monitoring and traceability.
Ordering Information: The document provides a detailed guide on ordering, including specifications for micron ratings, capsule lengths, inlet and outlet types, and non-sterile options.

WPS Capsule Filters Symmetric Polyethersulfone (PES) Membrane Water Service Applications Process Water Ultrapure Water Pharmaceutical Waters WPS Capsules are hydrophilic and manufactured with symmetric polyethersulfone (PES) membrane. PES membrane exhibits excellent flow rates with high efficiency retention. WPS capsule filters are used for purified water filtration. The symmetric membrane used in WPS capsules guards against bacterial grow-through, reducing the potential for biofilm accumulation in systems. Polyethersulfone is particularly suited for high flow rate filtration. The membrane allows optimization for high flow rates and high throughput. Excellent flow rates with high efficiency retention High quality filtration of purified waters for multiple industries Optimized membrane design for high throughput WPS Capsule Filters - Filtration Area Capsule Length Flow Rate / Filtration Area The following table represents typical water flow at a one psi (69 mbar) pressure differential across a single 2 inch capsule with 1.0 ft² (930 cm²) of media with 1/2” FNPT ports. The test fluid is water at ambient temperature. Higher pressure drops are acceptable, but as flows increase the pressure drop of the housing becomes more apparent. 0.03 μm Pore Size * For approximate flow rates for 5” through 30” capsules, refer to the appropriate cartridge data sheet Construction Materials Maximum Operating Parameters Liquid Operational Pressure Filtration Media Symmetric Polyethersulfone (PES) Membrane Gases Operational Pressure Operating Temperature Media Support Forward Differential Pressure 50 psid (3.4 bard) at 20 °C (68 °F) Center Core Reverse Differential Pressure Outer Support Cage Sealing Method Thermal Bonding Recommended Changeout Pressure Water Service Grade
