Product catalog summary
Construction Materials
GGD Capsule Filters are constructed using polypropylene for the housing, media support, end caps, center core, and outer support cage. The filtration media is pleated fiberglass depth media, and the sealing method is thermal bonding.
Performance and Applications
The filters offer 99% retention at the rated pore size, high contaminant holding capacity, and excellent retention. They are suitable for applications such as process water, acids and bases, inks and dyes, chemicals, and air/vent filtration. GGD capsules are designed for efficient clarification or prefiltration, protecting critical membrane filters downstream.
Operating Parameters
Maximum liquid operational pressure is 80 psi at 20°C, and gases operational pressure is 60 psi at 20°C. The operating temperature is 43°C at 30 psi in water. Forward differential pressure is 50 psid, and reverse differential pressure is 40 psid. The recommended changeout pressure is 35 psid.
Flow Rate and Filtration Area
The filtration area varies with capsule length and media type, with typical water flow rates provided for different pore sizes. For example, a 2-inch capsule with 1.0 ft² of media has a flow rate of 0.50 GPM at 0.22 μm pore size.
Sanitization and Compliance
GGD capsules can be autoclaved at 250°F for 30 minutes and sanitized with industry-standard chemicals. They comply with FDA and EC regulations for food contact materials and exhibit low levels of extractables.
Quality Assurance
Manufacturing meets ISO 9001:2008 standards, with real-time monitoring and traceability. The process ensures high-quality products with reduced manual operations.
Ordering Information
Capsules can be ordered based on length, micron rating, and inlet/outlet specifications. Example order: CPGGD1-0N0001FF for a 10-inch, 1.0-micron, non-sterile capsule with sanitary connections.

GGD Capsule Filters Pleated Fiberglass Depth Media Applications Process Water Acids & Bases Inks & Dyes Air/Vent Filtration GGD capsules are designed for use wherever efficient clarification or prefiltration is a critical part of the process. The capsules are made using fiberglass depth media and provide 99% retention at the rated pore size. The high-efficiency GGD capsules are designed with the optimal filtration area so that the filters can remove large amounts of particulate and other contaminants over a long filter life. GGD capsules protect critical membrane filters in downstream liquid processes. Rated at 99% retention at pore size H igh contaminant holding capacity as well as excellent retention Applications for GGD capsule filters include removal of particulate contaminants from process water, specialty chemicals, inks and dyes. They are also used for tank vents to protect contents from particle contamination.
