Product catalog summary
Overview: The General Service Grade Nylon 6,6 Membrane Filter Cartridges are designed for general-purpose filtration applications. These cartridges are engineered to maximize the use of filter media, thereby reducing filtration costs. Each cartridge is flushed with high-purity water and tested for integrity to ensure performance consistency.
Construction Materials: The cartridges are constructed using a Nylon 6,6 membrane for filtration media, supported by polypropylene components including media support, end caps, center core, and outer support cage. The sealing method used is thermal bonding, and various O-ring materials are available, including Buna, Viton, EP, Silicone, and FEP encapsulated options.
Dimensions: Cartridges are available in lengths ranging from 5 to 40 inches with a nominal outside diameter of 2.75 inches. The filtration area is 7.0 square feet per 10-inch length.
Operating Parameters: The maximum differential pressure is 50 psid forward and 40 psid reverse at 20°C. The operating temperature is up to 82°C at 10 psid in water. The recommended changeout pressure is 35 psid.
Sanitization/Sterilization: Cartridges can be sanitized using filtered hot water, autoclave, or in-line steam, with specific conditions for each method. Chemical sanitization is limited to mild agents like 1% hydrogen peroxide.
Applications: Suitable for process water, inks and dyes, DI water, solvents, and chemicals.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: The filters meet FDA and EC regulations for food contact and are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 certified facility. They exhibit low levels of extractables and are produced in clean rooms.
Flow Rates: The document provides a table of typical flow rates for various pore sizes, indicating performance at a 1 psid pressure differential.
Ordering Information: Cartridges can be customized based on pore size, end cap type, length, and O-ring material. Specific codes are provided for each configuration option.

GNM Cartridge Filters Nylon 6,6 Membrane Applications Process Water Inks & Dyes Integrity Test Information Representative samples from each lot are tested for integrity to ensure consistent performance. Maximum Operating Parameters Differential Pressure • Forward Operating Temperature Recommended Changeout Pressure 82 °C (180 °F) at 10 psid (0.69 bard) in water 35 psid (2.4 bard) General Service Grade Nylon 6,6 Membrane Filter Cartridges are designed for general purpose use wherever a pleated membrane filter is required. Designed to hold the maximum amount of filter media that can be completely and effectively utilized in a cartridge, GNM filters lower the cost of filtration. GNM cartridges are flushed with 17+ megohm-cm water to remove potential extraneous manufacturing debris. These cartridge modules are also individually tested for integrity. Construction Materials Chemical Sanitization Media Support Center Core Outer Support Cage Sealing Method Thermal Bonding Buna, Viton® (or FKM), EP, Silicone, FEP Encapsulated Silicone, FEP Encapsulated Viton (or FKM) Dimensions Length Outside Diameter Filtration Area 90 °C (194 °F), 30 minutes, multiple cycles, max 3 psid forward flow In-line Steam For all elevated temperature procedures above, a stainless steel support ring is required. Nylon does not tolerate aggressive chemical sanitization protocols. Nylon membrane cartridges are best sanitized with 1% hydrogen peroxide or 1% hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid. Various manufacturers use different concentrations of active ingredients. Refer and adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions for sanitizing nylon membrane.
