Pharma Polypro Membrane Capsules

Pharma Polypro Membrane Capsules

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and applications for Pharmaceutical Grade PPM Capsule Filters, which are designed for the pharmaceutical industry. These filters utilize a hydrophobic polypropylene membrane suitable for non-aqueous liquids, compressed gases, and vent filtration.
Construction Materials: All components, including housing, filtration media, media support, end caps, center core, and outer support cage, are made of polypropylene. The sealing method used is thermal bonding.
Applications: PPM Capsule Filters are used for solvents, gases, bulk pharmaceutical chemicals, compressed air, and tank vent filtration. They are optimized for increased filter life and reduced operating costs.
Operating Parameters: The maximum operational pressure for liquids is 80 psi at 20°C, and for gases, it is 60 psi at 20°C. The operating temperature is 43°C at 30 psi in water. Forward and reverse differential pressures are 50 psid and 40 psid, respectively, with a recommended changeout pressure of 35 psid.
Flow Rates: The document includes a table showing typical air and water flow rates at a one psi pressure differential across a 2-inch capsule with 1.0 ft² of media.
Integrity Testing: Each cartridge is individually integrity tested using the water intrusion method. The document specifies test pressures and maximum diffusion rates for different pore sizes.
Sanitization/Sterilization: Capsules can be autoclaved at 250°F for 30 minutes and sanitized with industry-standard chemical concentrations. They are not suitable for steam use.
Compliance and Validation: The materials meet USP Class VI and FDA requirements for non-toxic, non-fiber releasing filters. Validation is based on ASTM Method F838-05 and HIMA protocols.
Quality Assurance: Manufacturing meets ISO 9001:2008 standards, with real-time monitoring for quality and traceability. Each capsule is integrity tested before release.
Ordering Information: The document provides a detailed guide for ordering, including micron ratings, lengths, inlet and outlet types, and non-sterile options.

PPM Capsule Filters Polypropylene Membrane ulk Pharmaceutical Chemicals Compressed Air B Tank Vent Filtration PPM capsules are manufactured for the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Made with inherently hydrophobic polypropylene membrane, these cartridges are designed for use in the filtration of non-aqueous liquids, and as compressed gas and vent filters. Each cartridge module is individually integrity tested using the water intrusion method before it is released from manufacture. O ptimized for maximum filter life Designed for final filtration of compressed air and process gases V ent filtration for the protection of tank contents Final filtration of solvents, alcohols and other nonaqueous liquids The capsule media surface area, filter core design, pleat configuration and pleat packing density have been optimized to provide increased life resulting in lower filtration operating costs. Specific applications for PPM capsule filters include final filtration of solvents and alcohols, final filtration of compressed air and process gas, and sterile vent filtration to prevent contaminants from reaching critical ingredients in tanks. PPM Capsule Filters - Filtration Area Capsule Length Polypropylene Membrane Flow Rate / Filtration Area The following table represents typical air and water flow at a one psi (69 mbar) pressure differential across a single 2 inch capsule with 1.0 ft² (930 cm²) of media with 1/2” FNPT ports. The test fluids are water or compressed air at ambient temperature. Higher pressure drops are acceptable, but as flows increase the pressure drop of the housing becomes more apparent.
