Biopharm High Capacity PVDF Cartridge Filters

Product catalog summary
Overview: The BPVWL Cartridge Filters are biopharmaceutical-grade filters made with hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane. These filters are designed for high capacity and efficiency, offering excellent retention characteristics, flow rates, and low protein binding. They are suitable for critical applications in biopharmaceutical production, including bioburden reduction in various liquids.
Applications: The filters are used in buffers, media, water for injection (WFI), solvents, alcohols, and other liquids. They are particularly effective for filtering products with elements that can adsorb to the media, such as preservatives and proteins, making them ideal for valuable protein solutions like vaccines and plasma products.
Construction Materials: The filters are constructed with a high capacity PVDF membrane, supported by polypropylene components, and sealed using thermal bonding. Various O-ring materials are available, including Buna, Viton, EP, Silicone, and FEP encapsulated options.
Dimensions: The filters are available in lengths from 5 to 40 inches and have an outside diameter of 2.75 inches.
Integrity and Operating Parameters: Each manufacturing lot is tested for integrity. The filters can operate at a maximum differential pressure of 50 psid forward and 40 psid reverse at 20°C. The operating temperature is up to 82°C at 10 psid in water, with a recommended changeout pressure of 35 psid.
Sanitization and Sterilization: The filters can be sanitized using filtered hot water, autoclave, or in-line steam, with specific conditions for each method. Chemical sanitization is also possible using standard industry chemicals.
Compliance and Safety: The materials used in the filters are non-toxic and comply with USP Class VI and FDA requirements for repeated food contact. They also meet standards for non-fiber releasing filters and have low levels of bacterial endotoxins.
Ordering Information: Filters can be customized based on pore size, end cap type, and other specifications. An example order number format is provided for reference.
Quality Assurance: The manufacturing facility meets ISO 9001:2008 standards, ensuring high quality and cost-effective filtration solutions. Real-time data collection and analysis drive continuous improvements.
Flow Rates: Typical flow rates are provided for different pore sizes, with extrapolation possible for housings with multiple elements and higher pressure drops.

BPVWL Cartridge Filters High Capacity PVDF Membrane Applications SVPs Plasma Products Dimensions Length Outside Diameter Integrity Test Information Representative samples from each manufacturing lot are tested for integrity to ensure consistent performance. Biopharmaceutical grade PVWL filters are made using hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane. The proprietary membrane casting process creates a thick membrane with excellent retention characteristics and flow rates and low protein binding. BPVWL cartridges are used for a wide range of critical applications in the biopharmaceutical production. Applications include bioburden reduction in buffers and media, water for injection (WFI), solvents, alcohols and other liquids. Our filters provide high efficiency, validatable performance protecting sterilizing grade filters. PVDF is particularly suited for the filtration of products containing elements that can adsorb to the media, such as preservatives and proteins. The very low binding nature of PVDF makes it a good choice for filtration of valuable protein solutions such as vaccines, plasma products, MAb products, other biopharmaceuticals as well as products that contain low amounts of preservatives.
