Grabwire Switches

Grabwire Switches

Grabwire Switches

Product catalog summary
General Description
Grabwire switches offer continuous safety protection over long distances, suitable for machinery like conveyors. They replace multiple emergency stops with a single system, covering up to 2km with the Live-Wire system. Craig & Derricott provide two systems: the 'GW' range for up to 100m and the 'LW' range for up to 2km, both adhering to international safety standards.
Specifications
The switches are available in various models with different materials and spans, featuring die-cast aluminum or stainless steel enclosures, IP65 ingress protection, and rope tensioners. Electrical contacts vary by model, with ratings up to 16A/600V.
Connection Kits
These kits include all necessary components for installation, such as multi-strand steel cables, eyebolts, thimbles, shackles, and clamps, available for installation lengths up to 100m.
Installation Recommendations
Ensure maximum accessibility and place supports at 2m intervals. Avoid excessive bends and ensure the pull wire runs freely. For lengths over 100m, use the 'LW' system. Opt for stainless steel in wet environments.
Anchor Boxes
Anchor boxes eliminate the need for electrical cabling between switch units by using a mechanical latch system, requiring manual resetting after activation.
Accessories
Available accessories include indicator lamps, mounting kits, pull wires, eyebolts, pulleys, thimbles, shackles, and cable clamps.
Live Wire Grabwire System
This system is designed for long-distance protection, using a low voltage circuit that trips under various fault conditions. It requires manual resetting and is suitable for heavy-duty environments, including a control station and multiple Grab-Line switches.
Installation Parameters
The total circuit length must not exceed 2000m or 50 ohms resistance. The distance between switches should not exceed 150m, with supports every 2m. The control station requires a 110V or 240V AC supply.
