Overview: The EIMAC 4CM2500KG is a high-power ceramic/metal tetrode designed for RF applications. It features a thoriated tungsten mesh filament and pyrolytic graphite grids, supporting high anode dissipation up to 2500 kilowatts. Cooling is achieved through a multi-phase water/vapor system.
Specifications:- Filament: Thoriated Tungsten Mesh, 15.5 V, 640 A
- Frequency: Maximum 130 MHz, useful over 200 MHz
- Capacitances: Various interelectrode capacitances provided
- Mechanical: Net weight 161 lb, vertical mounting, water and forced air cooling
- Maximum Ratings: Anode voltage 27 kV, screen voltage 2.5 kV, anode current 190 A
Cooling Requirements:- High velocity water cooling is essential to prevent overheating and ensure efficiency.
- Water resistance should be one megohm per cubic centimeter or higher.
- Base cooling requires a minimum of 50 cfm of air at 50°C.
Handling and Storage:- Use a lifting hoist for handling; avoid shocks and vibrations.
- Store in original crate, purge water from cooling systems, and monitor vacuum with a VAC-ION pump.
Electrical Operation:- Filament voltage should be increased gradually over two minutes.
- High voltage safety precautions are critical; interlock switches are mandatory.
- Filament operation should avoid inrush currents exceeding twice the normal operating current.
VACION Pump Operation:- Used for monitoring tube vacuum; should operate continuously.
- Normal ion current reading is less than 10 uAdc; shutdown if it exceeds 50 uAdc.
