Laser deep-etching is effective with most metals used in automobile parts. Deep-etching is perfect when wear is expected. Etching depths of 140 mils and higher in steel and aluminium are possible. The CMS Desktop Laser adjusts in 3 axis, including a micro-fine Z adjustment for precise laser focus. The laser is focused when the two focusing lasers merge.
