UNISERT® ASSEMBLY

Product catalog summary
Overview of Rupture Discs:
The document details two types of rupture discs: MICRO X and Composite, both used with the UNISERT Assembly to manage system pressure through a controlled burst point.

MICRO X Rupture Disc:
This disc is a flat seat, cross-scored, tension-type designed to open in a non-fragmenting, four-petal pattern. It features scoring on the outlet side to ensure a smooth inlet surface, resisting corrosion and media accumulation.

Composite Rupture Disc:
Composed of multiple components, this disc includes a metallic top section and a seal, with optional vacuum support and protective rings. It features a seven-hole design for non-fragmenting performance and can handle a higher operating to burst pressure ratio.

UNISERT Assembly:
The UNISERT Assembly is a rupture disc holder that enhances sealing capabilities and accommodates both MICRO X and Composite discs, offering flexibility for varying pressure requirements.

Installation Features:
Includes alignment pins and a J-Hook for proper orientation, with a stainless steel nameplate indicating flow direction. Protective liners and rings guard against corrosion and damage.

Material and Temperature Specifications:
Materials include 316 Stainless Steel, Monel, and Inconel, with specified temperature limits. Pressure ranges and burst tolerances for different disc types are detailed.

Pressure and Burst Specifications:
Tables provide minimum and maximum burst pressures for MICRO X and Composite discs. The document emphasizes specifying conditions for accurate performance.

Key Features:
Both disc types are suitable for gaseous or liquid service, offer excellent corrosion resistance, and are designed for non-fragmenting, full, instantaneous opening. They are compatible with relief valves and include a standard flow direction tag.

Specifications and Compliance:
Discs comply with national or international codes such as ASME, DIN, EN, BSI, JIS, and others as specified by the customer. They are manufactured, temperature tested, and marked in compliance with these codes.

B.D.I.® Alarm System:
The B.D.I. Alarm System provides immediate notification of pressure relief, compatible with MICRO X and Composite discs. It consists of copper conductors on a Teflon membrane, triggering an electrical signal when the disc bursts.

Certification and Testing:
Flow performance is certified by The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. Continental Disc Corporation maintains an ASME accepted flow laboratory for testing.

Manufacturing Ranges and Tolerances:
Special reduced manufacturing ranges are available upon request. Burst tolerances indicate the maximum expected variation from the rated burst pressure.

Table IV and V Data:
Tables provide specifications for rupture disc sizes, weights, and dimensions, including ANSI, DIN, and JIS standards. The UNISERT Holder design protects the rupture disc dome during installation.

Ordering Information:
Specify quantity, size, bolting class, material, options, accessories, and code requirements when ordering. Quality assurance includes ASME Code tests, special cleaning, packaging, tagging, and temperature testing.

Contact Information:
Continental Disc Corporation has headquarters in the USA and offices in the Netherlands, China, and India, with contact details provided for each location.

UNISERT® ASSEMBLY-2

UNISERT ASSEMBLY What is the UNISERT Assembly? The UNISERT Assembly is a flat seat rupture disc holder which provides improved rupture disc sealing capabilities. It is designed to house either the MICRO X® Rupture Disc or the Composite Flat Seat Rupture Disc. These non-fragmenting designed rupture discs provide a wide choice of burst ratings from the low pressures of the Composite (FS) Rupture Disc through the higher pressures of the scored positive acting MICRO X Rupture Disc. flow orientation between the companion flanges. Both the J-Hook and alignment pins are provided on all 1" through 12"...

SPECIFICATIONS Manufacturing Range Burst Tolerance Manufacturing range is defined as the allowable pressure range within which a rupture disc is rated. It is based upon the customer specified burst pressure. The standard manufacturing ranges for Continental’s MICRO X Rupture Disc include -5 psig for burst pressure ratings below 50 psig and -10% for burst pressures 50 psig and above. Manufacturing ranges of -2 psig for burst pressure ratings below 50 psig and -5% for burst pressures 50 psig and above are also available. The manufacturing ranges for Continental’s Composite (FS) Rupture Discs are...
