Overview
The BDI-FLX™ Burst Disc Sensor System is an electronic instrument designed to provide immediate notification of a rupture disc bursting. Main Components
The system comprises the BDI-FLX Sensor and BDI-FLX Interface Cable. The sensor assembly is one-time use and configurable for all BDI-FLX Model Interface Cable Assemblies. It operates within a temperature range of -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 204°C) and is available for industrial and sanitary applications.

Interface Cable Features
The reusable assembly routes electric power to the sensor, monitors sensor strip resistance, and transmits output signals. It operates within a temperature range of -40°F to 158°F (-40°C to 70°C) and includes a 6 ft long shielded pre-amp cable with an M12 connector.

Interface Cable Model Options
There are three models: 2W-IS, 2W-NIS, and 4W-NIS, each with specific features and certifications. The 2W-IS model is intrinsically safe, certified for ATEX and IECEx, and suitable for hazardous locations. The 2W-NIS and 4W-NIS models are non-intrinsically safe, suitable for non-hazardous applications.

Alarm Monitor Options
Continental Disc Alarm Monitors are available in models MTB-700, BB-100A, and BB-400A, each with different features such as discreet channels, audio/visual alarms, and dry contacts for remote alarms.

Gasket Materials & Temperatures
The system supports various gasket materials, including Peroxide Cured Silicone, Platinum Cured Silicone, White and Black VITON®, White and Black EPDM, and PTFE Fluoropolymer, each with specific service temperature ranges.

Certifications
The system complies with the Pressure Equipment Directive and ATEX Directive and is UL and cUL listed.

AVAILABLE FOR INDUSTRIAL AND SANITARY APPLICATIONS The BDI-FLX™ Burst Disc Sensor System utilizes an electronic instrument which provides instantaneous notification of the bursting of a rupture disc using versatile interface cable options. When combined with an alarm monitor, this system provides protection for lives, equipment and the environment. Designed for use with ASME and DIN flanges 1”-12” (25mm-300mm) or sanitary applications 1”-4” (25mm-100mm), the BDI-FLX Burst Disc Sensor System utilizes a sensor strip with a flexible potentiometer (electrical component that varies resistance in response to deflection) to signal a rupture disc has burst. CONTINENTAL DISC ALARM MONITORS BDI-FLX SENSOR SYSTEM, INCLUDING ALARM MONITOR A continuous signal flows between the BDI-FLX Burst Disc Sensor System and the Alarm Monitor under normal conditions. Once the rupture disc bursts, the BDI-FLX Sensor System indicates the event, opening the electrical circuit. NOTE: If the BDI-FLX Burst Disc Sensor System loses power, it defaults to an open circuit.
