BAScontrol

Product catalog summary
Overview: The BAScontrol is a 20-point field controller powered by the Sedona Framework™, designed for direct Ethernet network connection. It is BACnet/IP compliant with a B-ASC device profile and is programmable using Niagara or Sedona Workbench tools. It supports remote Ethernet I/O applications and can be configured via a web browser.
Specifications: The BAScontrol features a 32-bit ARM7 processor, 512 kB flash memory, and a 16 Mbit serial flash file system. It supports BACnet/IP, Sedona SOX, HTTP, and FTP protocols over a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. The device can operate with a fixed IP or as a DHCP client. It includes an 8-position DIP switch for device instance number assignment and a real-time clock with super-cap backup for local scheduling.
Input/Output Configuration: The BAScontrol offers eight universal inputs, four binary inputs, four analog outputs, and models for relay or triac binary outputs. Universal inputs support thermistors, analog voltage, contact closure, and pulse inputs. Binary outputs are non-configurable, and the unit is powered by a 24VAC/VDC source.
Functionality: The BAScontrol supports various logical, control, math, counter/timer, scheduling, and I/O interfacing operations. It includes a Control Kit with 60 components and can operate standalone or interact with a Tridium JACE supervisory controller.
Compliance and Standards: The device complies with CE Mark, CFR 47, Part 15 Class A, and RoHS. It supports BACnet/IP and other protocols, with a data rate of 10/100 Mbps. Electromagnetic compatibility is ensured through various EN and CISPR standards.
Environmental and Mechanical: Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 60°C, with storage temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. It supports 10–95% relative humidity (non-condensing) and has an IP30 protection rating.
Ordering Information: Available models include BASC-20R with relay outputs and BASC-20T with triac outputs. The device is available through Contemporary Controls in the USA, China, UK, and Germany.

BAScontrol-1

BAScontrol — 20-point BACnet/IP Sedona Field Controller Sedona Framework™ field controller with a direct connection to an Ethernet network. Ideally suited for structured wiring systems, the BAScontrol is BACnet/IP compliant with a B-ASC device profile. Having a resident Sedona Virtual Machine (SVM), the unit Is freely programmable using tools such as Niagara Workbench or Sedona Workbench. For remote Ethernet I/O applications, the unit can be configured with minimal effort using a web browser. The BAScontrol provides a convenient mix of universal inputs, binary inputs and outputs as well as analog outputs. Models exist for both triac and relay binary outputs. The unit is ideal for unitary control or for expanding I/O points in the field via an Ethernet connection. Versatile Control Device — field controller or remote Ethernet I/O • BACnet/IP compliant • B-ASC device profile • Direct connection to an Ethernet network • Powered by Sedona Framework™ • Web browser or Workbench configurable • Eight configurable universal inputs: Thermistor, analog voltage, contact closure, pulse inputs • Four contact closure or pulse inputs • Four analog voltage outputs • Four relay or triac output models

Data Sheet — BAScontrol BAScontrol — Overview The BAScontrol utilizes a powerful 32-bit ARM7 processor with 512 kB of flash memory plus a 16 Mbit serial flash file system for storing configuration data and an application program. By operating at the BACnet/IP level, the BAScontrol can share the same Ethernet network with supervisory controllers and operator workstations. The unit can be configured for a fixed IP address or can operate as a DHCP client receiving its IP address from a DHCP server. An onboard 8-position DIP switch can assist in assigning unique device instance numbers — making commissioning...

Data Sheet — BAScontrol Powered by Sedona Framework™ — for Implementing Control The BAScontrol incorporates Sedona Virtual Machine (SVM) technology developed by Tridium. Using established Tridium tools such as Niagara Workbench and Sedona Workbench, a system integrator can develop a control application using Workbench’s powerful drag-and-drop visual programming methodology. Once developed, the program remains stored in the BAScontrol and executes by way of the SVM. The application can run standalone in the BAScontrol or interact with a program in a Tridium JACE supervisory controller over Ethernet....
