FILM SCRAP GRANULATORS SPECIALTY GRANULATOR FOR FILM EXTRUSION FSG Series beside-the-line granulators provide efficient, uniform regrinding of thin guage film scrap. The FSG granulators are designed to be used as part of a complete in-line automatic scrap recycling system for thin guage film extrusion processes. The three-way hopper design allows the granulator to accommodate edge and bleed trims, off-spec roll scrap and handfed scrap materials simultaneously. Model FSG-300 Shown with optional roll feed and relief head UNIQUE CUTTING CHAMBER SIMPLIFIES CLEAN-OUT Conair’s FSG Series of film scrap granulators offer a slant-knife open rotor design, providing scissor cutting action for fast, efficient processing. This technique is used for maximum bulk density, higher throughputs and generates less noise and fines. The standard (2) fixed bed knife design along with either 3 or 5 rotating rotor knives assure a high quality of ground scrap consistency. The rotor knives are adjustable to ensure a fixed gap between the knives and the screen, eliminating screen clogging and minimizing heat build-up. The innovative cutting chamber features a swing-open removable screen, cradle and scrap discharge bin. This design provides wide open access. Rotor access is straightin versus accessing from underneath, greatly simplifying clean-out and blade maintenance. This rotor design saves both time and money. Easy access for cleaning FSG Series granulators offer a swing-open cradle screen for the industry’s fastest rotor access and lowest in-feed height. A standard electric jack screw is included for ease of access for cleaning and maintenance of the cutting chamber. Quiet operation The FSG Series granulators come with standard double-wall sound proof hoppers. An optional integral sound enclosed base can be added to reduce noise as well. Integral control panel The control panel comes equipped with all starters and controls for the granulator, fluff outlet blower, electric jackscrew, optional roll feeder and trim inducer blower controls when purchased as part of a complete in-line scrap recycling system. Optional roll feeder Reintroduction of roll scrap is achieved with the attachment of the optional RFL series roll feeders. The standard roll feeder is designed with applicationspecific rolls that provide a strong pull on the film, without wrapping. They are available in several sizes with 1/2 Hp {0.37 kW} single drive variable speed motors that run 13-65 ft/min {4-20 meters/min}. It’s an easy, efficient way to improve profitability. Conair trim systems handle all kinds of film and sheet waste and return it directly to the extruder at rates of 25% or more.
