Elastomeric Zebra Connectors are high-performance interconnect devices suitable for various electronic applications, especially with the trend towards micro-electronics and miniaturization. Key features include high density for increased I/O, low resistance with high current capacity, low insertion and compression force, redundant contact engagement, high electrical and mechanical reliability, chemical stability, and cost-effectiveness with ease of assembly.
The connectors are composed of gold-plated brass wire with a pitch of 0.10mm and insulating silicone rubber with hardness levels of 30° and 50°.
Specifications include pitch variations of 0.10 ± 0.05 mm and 0.05 ± 0.02 mm, length ranging from 1.0 to 250.0 mm with varying tolerances, height from 1.0 to 10.0 mm, and width from 1.0 to 4.0 mm.
Tests are conducted at 60°C and 95% RH for 250 hours with a compression value of 15%. Post-test requirements include maintaining height above 95% and conductivity below 1 Ω.
Height before and after tests showed a return ratio of 95.7%. Conductivity increased from <0.2Ω to 0.6Ω after aging tests.
These connectors are used in LCD and EL displays, flex circuit-to-board, board-to-board, burn-in sockets, chip-to-board, miniature and low profile applications, and memory card interconnects in general electronics.
