The company The history of Comev spa begins in 1958. In Montevarchi there was already a company that built parallel lathes and 13 workers who left the Ciatti Ubaldo company got together in a cooperative form and started the production of lathes called COMM. The factory in via Chiantigiana 39 is still the same in its initial part, and has undergone over time restructuring and evolution up to the current structure. The name of the company from COMM limited liability cooperative society, underwent the transformation into Comev spa in 1971, maintaining a cooperative-type structure, given that 50% of the members continue to be the employees themselves. In 2023 Comev will celebrate 65 years of uninterrupted activity in the construction of parallel lathes. The certifications Comev is a member of UCIMU (union of machine tool manufacturers) and is ISO 9001 certified since 2015 with TUV Austria. Production organization Finding itself in an area with little mechanical related industries, the company has always been structured for an autonomous internal production. The production range The production range of Comev lathes is certainly the widest on the Italian and European market.
