Lubrication Specifications
The gear units require mineral oil with ISO VG220 viscosity and EP additives for splash lubrication. Recommended oils include P-MACH ENERGOL GR-HP 220, ESSO SPARTAN EP 220, MOBIL MOBILGEAR 630, SHELL OMALA EP 220, and ELF REDULTELF SP 220. Use of other lubricants requires SOM sales service approval.

Maintenance Procedures
Routine maintenance involves changing the oil and monitoring lubricant levels. The initial oil change is recommended after 100 work hours, followed by changes every 1000 hours or annually. For oil drainage, position the gear unit as per diagram A, remove both caps to facilitate oil flow, preferably when the oil is warm.

Filling Procedure
To fill the gear unit, position one of the two caps on the front cover as shown in diagram B. Pour oil through the upper hole until it flows out of the other hole, then replace the caps.

Storage Recommendations
Store gear units in closed, covered environments, not in direct contact with the ground, to prevent oxidation. For storage over 3 months, protect externally with anti-oxidizing products and fill with oil. Gear units are usually supplied unpainted. Hydraulic motors require ISO VG46 hydraulic fluid to prevent oxidation, with ports closed using metal plugs and washers.

General Notes
Ensure system cleanliness before starting the machine. The oil entering the motor must be carefully filtered. Regularly check lubricant levels every 100 hours of operation and top up as necessary following the filling procedure.
