New Filigree AttachmentPatent Pending | Art. Nos. 1233/4233 Designed for use with pre-cast concrete slabs, the new Filigree Attachment allows the Steel Mesh Barriers or guardrails to be preinstalled at ground level and lifted in to position with the pre-cast unit. Thus avoiding the need to work at height. This innovative attachment is easily positioned during the casting process, being placed independently, rotated into position on its three feet, and readily secured to the rebar to prevent movement during the pour. It will accept loading in any direction and does, therefore, not require careful orientation. The pre-cast units are transported with the pre-cut plastic sleeves removed, simplifying stacking on the lorry, and reducing the stored height. Once on site, the units are off-loaded and the sleeves, which have been cut to suit the finished slab thickness, are inserted. The SMB Posts and Barriers are quickly fitted at ground level in total safety, and the slab is then lifted into position. Once placed, the lifting chains can be simply removed as the edges are already protected and the area is secure.

Regulations and Standards The new Filigree Attachment, when combined with the Safety Post and SMB, provides an edge protection solution that has been tested to confirm compliance with the performance requirements of EN 13374 Temporary Edge Protection Systems, Class A. It is, therefore, suitable for a vast range of applications protecting the edges of horizontal surfaces or those sloping up to 10°.
