Maintenance
Regular maintenance every six to twelve months is recommended, including checks on overpressure disconnector functionality and connection integrity.
Spare Parts
Most components are available on the open market, with specific parts available from COMAR if needed.
Current Harmonic Distortion
Harmonics can impact performance by altering voltage and current waveforms. Inductances can be added to create a detuned filter to prevent resonance issues.
Harmonics Overload Protection
The MHD Analyser protects P.F.C. units from harmonic currents, ensuring safe operation.
Introduction
This document outlines the technical specifications and operational guidelines for the MHD analyser and PA6-R card, which monitor and protect power factor correction equipment and capacitor banks from over-currents and harmonics.
Specifications
  • MHD Analyser: Monitors RMS value of fundamental current, total harmonics current, and individual odd harmonics up to the 19th. Displays data on a 2x16 back-lit LCD.
  • PA6-R Card: Protects up to 6 banks of capacitors from over-currents, especially due to harmonics and antiresonance conditions.
Operational Procedures
  • MHD Analyser: Activates alarms when THD(I)% exceeds thresholds, with manual and automatic reset modes. Displays current harmonic values and allows parameter settings for frequency, alarm threshold, reset modes, and connection type.
  • PA6-R Card: Uses special C.T. for current signals. In case of over-current, all banks are switched off, requiring a reset to resume normal operations.
Electrical Connections
  • MHD Analyser: Connects via plug connector with terminal fixing screws, supporting single-phase and three-phase connections.
  • PA6-R Card: Requires specific C.T. connections for each bank, with power supply options of 220Vac and 110Vac.
Technical Data
  • Rated supply voltage: 85-265Vac
  • Frequency: 50Hz or 60Hz
  • Measurement accuracy: ±1.5% for 20%-100% f.s.
  • Protection degree: IP54 front panel, IP20 rear panel
Construction Features
  • PA6-R Card: Must be installed in a ventilated area below 50°C. Trimmers for protection thresholds are factory-set and should not be adjusted without approval.
Instructions, Warranty, and Liability
  • Follow all instructions for installation, use, and maintenance to ensure safety and proper operation.
  • Warranty covers material and manufacturing defects for 12 months from purchase.
  • Comar Condensatori S.p.A. is not liable for damages due to improper use or assembly errors.
