Open the catalog to page 5CUTTING & GRINDING There are thousands of traditional hand grinders / swing-frame grinders in operation in foundries around the world. They require a significant physical input from the operator in order to be effective and over a working shift the efficiency drops considerably. They are also subject to high vibration and dangerous to operate. The Clansman approach has been to take the “man” away from the direct contact with the tool ( source of vibration, fatigue & danger) and place them in a safe, air conditioned cabin. Using a combination of manual and semi-automated controls with a quick...

Open the catalog to page 7PNEUMATIC HAMMERS The Clansman range of Cannons are used to remove risers and gating from castings. They can be mounted on a crane hook, manually operated directly or indirectly with remote control - or for maximum flexibility mounted on a Clansman Manipulator. Clansman Dynamics apply the same demanding design criteria to our range of impact hammers as to our Manipulators. A single piece forged impact head is the logical way to avoid problems with either welds or bolts becoming loose. Each Clansman Cannon is supplied with • Hook attachment point • Shock absorber mounted operator handles (smaller...
Open the catalog to page 8POWERBREAKERS Clansman Powerbreakers solve the problem of cutting gatings in the foundry. Shorter gatings for remelt reduces waste and improves efficiency. The gating is fed into the Powerbreaker (by Manipulator) which instantly grips, bends and breaks the gating. Powerbreakers have been in operation since 1995. The Clansman Powerbreaker is an immensely strong tool to apply maximum force on the runner system. Powerbreakers have a breaking capacity of up to Ø120 mm, or 100mm square sections, of all grades of ductile iron. The head of the Powerbreaker is mounted over a conveyor or scrap box so...

Standard PCB controlled manipulators can be fitted with our “ClanScan” diagnostic system, which scans all diagnostic channels of the control card and displays this data in an easily understood format on a HMI screen inside the operator’s cabin. Manipulators are now viewed less as standalone equipment and more as an integrated component of a production line “machine”. The “complete machine” could be defined...
