Method Approval
Approved methods include GB 16659-2008 and ASTM D6722-11.
Procedure
  1. Prepare the instrument as per the operator’s manual, checking pressures, temperatures, and voltage.
  2. Keep the instrument in “prepare” state for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Conduct three blank sample tests to reduce the blank level. If the blank LC_peak is higher than 0.001, more blank samples are suggested.
  4. Weigh a standard sample (60mg) in a nickel boat, input the weight in the software, and start the test. Ensure the sample position corresponds to the crucible number in the software.
  5. If the standard sample is within the tolerated content range, proceed. Otherwise, conduct two more standard sample tests. If still out of range, build a new calibration curve.
  6. Weigh two biomass samples (60mg) in nickel boats, input the weight in the software, and start the test.
  7. Check calibration with one standard sample after every 10 duplicate sample analyses.
  8. Repeat steps 6 to 8 until all samples are processed. Refer to the operator’s manual for calibration details.
Typical Results
Results for wood samples show varying mercury content, with average values provided for each sample.
