Data Sheet Cisco ONS 15600 Multiservice Switching Platform ® Fully Cisco designed and engineered, the Cisco ONS 15600 Multiservice Switching Platform (MSSP) simplifies and revolutionizes bandwidth management in the metro core by allowing service providers to transparently integrate their metro core and metro edge networks, while dramatically reducing initial turnup costs. The Cisco ONS 15600 MSSP (Figure 1) is a true multiservice switch, providing carrierclass reliability, availability, serviceability, operations, and management. The Cisco ONS 15600 MSSP combines the functionality of multiple metro systems, including SONET/SDH multiplexers and digital cross-connect network elements, in one scalable, easy-to-use platform.
