Analogue instruments include synchroscopes and sequence-meters designed for single and three-phase circuits. Synchroscopes (SMC/STC) are Class 1 instruments, while sequence-meters (UC/CUC) are Class 1.5 with low consumption.
These instruments operate with an input circuit consumption of 3 mA and a frequency range of 20 to 100 Hz for synchroscopes and 50 Hz for sequence-meters. They can handle overloads of 1.2 times the nominal voltage permanently and 2 times for 5 seconds. The measurement voltage accuracy is 1.5% FE. Operating temperatures range from +10 to +30 ºC for synchroscopes and 0 to 70 ºC for sequence-meters, with front panel temperatures from -25 to +40 ºC and -40 to +70 ºC, respectively. The altitude limit is 2000 meters.
The instruments are housed in panel-type boxes with specific dimensions and weights detailed in tables. They comply with standards such as BS 89, EN 60051, IEC 144, UL 94, DIN 43780, IEC 51, and UNE 21318.
Synchroscopes (SMC/STC) provide readings of frequency and phase angle differences between generators or a generator and the network. The needle indicates synchronism when it moves from the (-) side towards (+) as the frequency difference approaches zero. Sequence-meters (UC/CUC) indicate the order of three-phase systems and include a relay for phase sequence verification.
Various models are available with specific dimensions and weights. Synchroscopes are available in single-phase and three-phase types, while sequence-meters come in UC 72, UC 96, and CUC 96 types. Detailed dimensions and weights are provided for each model.

When the difference is zero, the instrument's needle does not move from the synchronisation mark located in the centre of the scale.
