Portable Heaters
Portable models are fully assembled with a chrome-nickel plated tubular steel cart and handle, featuring large wheels for easy mobility. Safety grills are included to prevent contact with hot elements. Field wiring is facilitated through a conduit opening, with some models including a factory-installed cord and plug.
Fixed Overhead Heaters
These heaters can be hung from the ceiling using chains or brackets. They come fully assembled and require no secondary splice box for wiring. Protective screens and disconnect switches are available.
Ordering Information
Models are available in various configurations based on power, voltage, and phase requirements. Stock status is indicated as stock (S), assembly stock (AS), or non-stock (NS). To order, specify the model, PCN, kW, volts, phase, and quantity.
Accessories
- Tip-Over Switch Kits: For safety, these kits de-energize the heater if knocked over.
- Ground Fault Detector Kits: Provide additional protection by monitoring insulation levels and preventing arcing faults.
- Power Disconnect Kit: Includes a liquid-tight assembly with a 3-pole switch and terminal block.
Dimensions
Dimensions vary by model, with detailed measurements provided for both portable and fixed configurations.
Construction
The heaters feature a rigid extruded aluminum housing that protects the heating elements, which are located at the focal point of a mirrored aluminum reflector. The heating elements are constructed with high-quality resistance wire and MgO refractory insulation, ensuring durability and moisture resistance. The heaters are shipped fully assembled and can be mounted using chains or brackets.
Safety Features
The heaters can be equipped with a power disconnect kit and ground fault detectors to ensure safe operation. The ground fault detectors monitor insulation levels and de-energize the load to prevent faults.
Application Guidelines
The document provides guidelines for sizing and installing the heaters for various applications, including indoor comfort, moisture control, and outdoor heating. It includes tables for watt density requirements based on temperature rise and application conditions.
